Mini Splits

Cold-climate ductless heating and cooling for finished basements, bonus rooms, three-season porches, and additions. Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat, Fujitsu XLTH, and Daikin Aurora systems rated to heat below 0°.

What We Offer

Single-zone mini-splits

One outdoor unit, one indoor head. Typical cost $4,500 to $7,000 installed. Common for finished basements, bonus rooms, and three-season porches.

Multi-zone mini-splits

2 to 5 indoor heads on one outdoor unit. Common for additions, older homes without ductwork, and homes adding zoning without tearing out ducts.

Cold-climate rated units

Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat and Fujitsu XLTH are rated for full capacity down to -5° and usable capacity below that. Essential for Minnesota primary heat.

Xcel rebates on qualifying systems

Xcel Energy offers rebates on qualifying cold-climate heat pumps. We identify the rebate, submit the paperwork, and pass the savings through.

Clean line-set runs

Interior line-set covers or through-wall runs that look finished, not temporary. We hide the cable where we can.

Mini Splits
Why It Matters Here

Comfort where ducts do not go

Finished basements, bonus rooms over garages, three-season porches, additions, and older homes with radiator heat all share a problem: no ductwork. Modern cold-climate mini-splits (Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat, Fujitsu Halcyon, Daikin Aurora) heat efficiently down to 5° and below, and they cool without adding ducts you do not want to build.

Cold-climate models do, yes. Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat and Fujitsu XLTH units are rated to deliver full heating capacity down to -5° and usable capacity well below that. For primary heat in a Minnesota home we pair them with an electric or gas backup, but for a finished basement, bonus room, or three-season porch they often handle the load on their own.
A single-zone system (one outdoor unit, one indoor head) is typically $4,500 to $7,000 installed. Multi-zone systems run $8,000 to $16,000+ depending on the number of zones. Xcel offers rebates on qualifying cold-climate heat pumps.
Yes, and it is one of the best applications. A wall-mount or ceiling-cassette head handles heating and cooling for most finished basements without any ductwork changes. We run the line set through the rim joist or an existing chase.
