High-efficiency 95%+ AFUE two-stage or modulating furnaces run $5,500 to $9,000 depending on brand, BTU, and whether the venting, gas line, and return ducts need modification. CenterPoint and Xcel rebates can knock $400 to $1,500 off the qualifying high-efficiency models.
One day for a straight swap with matching venting and gas. Two days if we are converting from atmospheric to sealed combustion, redoing the condensate drain, or upsizing the return duct. We remove the old unit and haul it out the same day.
CenterPoint Energy offers rebates on qualifying 95%+ AFUE natural gas furnaces. Xcel Energy offers rebates on qualifying high-efficiency models and on heat pumps paired with electric backup. Federal tax credits may also apply depending on the equipment. We identify the full rebate stack as part of the quote and help you submit.
Usually yes, especially if you are moving to a two-stage or modulating furnace. A single-stage thermostat cannot drive a variable-speed furnace correctly, and you lose most of the efficiency and comfort benefit you paid for. We include a compatible communicating or smart thermostat on every high-efficiency install.
